Early in 2010 a prototype of Desktop Dungeons hit the Internet. People loved it, so we kept making it better and better, mainly by removing zeros from the version.
Pixel Dungeon is an already popular role-playing game on other platforms. Pixel Dungeon + is the first Pixel Dungeon variant for the Windows Store. It is a traditional roguelike. game with pixel-art graphics and a simple interface. Explore the depths of Pixel Dungeon, collect useful items, fight fierce monsters to find Amulet of Yendor (surprise!) - the ultimate artifact of this game world. From Wikipedia: 'Roguelike is a sub-genre of role-playing video games, characterized by random level generation, tile-based graphics and permanent death.' This game can be very difficult and is considered luck-based. Anyway, you will die often.
You are warned!:) Pixel Dungeon+ is open source software under the GPLv3 Licence. You can find the source code here: https://stormtek-games.com/source/PixelDungeonplusSource.7z. You can find the source code here: Show More. Submitted on 7/5/2018 Review title of Joer'ctWas expecting different This is basically a port of the original Pixel Dungeon. The + symbol is something left to be desired, as I haven't found anything worth that + symbol in the game. If your going to add that symbol, then at least give us a port of Soft Pixel Dungeon (Pixel Dungeon with a save system,) or even better Sprouted Pixel Dungeon (Pixel Dungeon with bigger maps, more items, and better quality of life than the original, in my opinion.) Overall not bad, but barely passable for bearing the name Pixel Dungeon +. Id be better off downloading the free zip file from the developers website.
One last thing. Movement with a mouse is horrible. I have to double click each time I want to take a step, and not being able to drag the map with the left mouse button gets to be a drag. Actions that are usually quick in the other versions are slower and need to be sped up. Submitted on 6/26/2018 Review title of LANEGood start, needs work The game is really similar to the mobile game with added graphics, but because it's fresh as a PC game, there are a lot of bugs that need fixed.
When traveling, the graphics don't stay consistent than when you're standing still. That gives a jarring feeling every time you move. The character needs to attack faster, check the mobile game to compare. Right now, he hits twice before any contact is made, and doing that two thousand times a game really slows everything down. You need to be able to click and drag the map with the left pointer. Read scrolls, eating food need to be faster.
I threw a frost seed down in front of a crab, but the crab walked right over it without getting frozen. Overall a good start, but needs some fixes to live up to mobile.

I've idea to make Pixel Dungeon online game and I'd like to know your opinion before I started the project. I created a simple fanpage with single poll on FB: What do you think about this? Would you give it a try or offline version is enough for you? Edit: I don't want to create 1000th fork of PD. I'd like to create a server (application) and client from zero.
Then host my server to ensure you access 24/7. So it won't require your mobile device to go in master mode. I even don't know, if it will on mobile devices. It depends on PD community. You'll be able to choose target platform and set the game mechanics with me (it doesn't have to be turn-based, it can be real-time). It's also posted on fanpage. First, I just wanted to suggest using a polling website, such as StrawPoll, to host your poll for your mod.
Using FaceBook may not be the best way to host a poll, since you yourself had to create the fanpage with your personal profile, and other users taking the poll have to use their personal profile to vote on the poll. This pulls away from the anonymity of reddit, and may make some users feel uncomfortable. So what exactly is it you are trying to accomplish in adding an online feature to Pixel Dungeon? Online Roguelike MMORPG? Player Versus Player gameplay? Like mentioned below, there is/was a GitHub with an online project in the works, but I cannot find much about it on this sub, or the. The project is most likely abandoned since there never seemed to be an online application provided by the project.

Is currently working on an Online PvP mode that is in beta for his mod, Skillful PD. He may have some advice for you. I'm interested in an Online version of PD, and would like to see what you can bring to the table. EDIT 1: Oh yeah. In one of your comments below you said you want to create an Online MMO Roguelike based off of Pixel Dungeon. There was a project, that may or may not still be available, that was called Pioneer, and was an open world adventure game that was partially based off of Pixel Dungeon, and used parts of the original coding, graphics, etc. To create the game.
You may be able to find it on Google Play. I'm not sure if it is still being updated or if it too is abandoned, but maybe you can get some ideas from there. First, I just wanted to suggest using a polling website, such as StrawPoll, to host your poll for your mod.

I think common (non-programmers) Internet users don't like pages like GitHub. So I created fanpage on Facebook, because it was fast and simple. But you're right. It can really make some users feel uncomfortable. There was a project, that may or may not still be available, that was called Pioneer, and was an open world adventure game that was partially based off of Pixel Dungeon, and used parts of the original coding, graphics, etc. To create the game. However the game seems to be more like Fallout with PD resources and systems.
I mean gun, planet etc. Thank you for your comment. It's really helpful for me. I just wanted to gather interested users (I'll post on other forums too) to once place, where I can show progress of my work.So I created fanpage on Facebook, because it was fast and simple. But you're right. It can really make some users feel uncomfortable. Of course, which is completely understandable.
I'm only speaking in the sense that some users may not want to use the FaceBook poll because of the potential privacy issue. If you use StrawPoll, for example, you can then post the link to the poll in this reddit post or a new one, and gather the same information in a more anonymous, user-privacy friendly way, all right here on reddit without using FaceBook But again, this is just a suggestion, and in no way am I attempting to change how you do things. Also I don't want to divide the community. I think common (non-programmers) Internet users don't like pages like GitHub. Generally speaking, the majority of this community seems appreciative of and/or indifferent to the use of GitHub. Since most developers have shared their GitHubs at some time or another, and some developers host and provide their APKs directly from their GitHubs, it is fairly reasonable to say that GitHub is a commonly used resource around here.
I've found this. However the game seems to be more like Fallout with PD resources and systems. I mean gun, planet etc. This is exactly what I was referencing.
Anything I can do to help! I'm willing to be a beta tester is you ever get it going.
Btw.there's already a GitHub web based PD project that was started, but I believe it has been abandoned. It would be cool though. I'd certainly pop open a browser tab once in a while to get a game in (when I'm on a boring call) I'm not sure what the 'server application' would be though. Seems like you'd want to do the whole thing in javascript / canvas.
Where does the server come in other than saving high scores? Why don't you start a project on GitHub and get some others interested in contributing? I'm not sure what the 'server application' would be though. Seems like you'd want to do the whole thing in javascript / canvas. Where does the server come in other than saving high scores? Server is needed to play together with other players and every action (packet with requst) will be sent from client to server, processed (server side) and server will send response to client.
Thus, it won't be only for saving highscores. The whole game will work on the server side. Why don't you start a project on GitHub and get some others interested in contributing?
I wanted to check, if anyone would be interested. And I don't want just to port PD to browser as singleplayer. I'd like to create. Roguelike MMO based on PD.
